THE AQUADOM

THE AQUADOM

World's Largest Free-Standing Aquarium

The AquaDom was created by Union Investment Real Estate GmbH and is the world's biggest free-standing aquarium. It weighs 2,000 tonnes and comprises a 14 metre high cylinder filled with a million litres of water and 1,500 tropical fish. A special feature of the aquarium is the glazed, two-floor elevator at its centre which can transport up to 48 people through a fascinating underwater world to the top of the building. It is operated by Berliner Gesellschaft für Großaquarien (BGG), which received the Blue Starfish Award for the first time in 2009 in recognition of the company's outstanding work for the protection of marine fauna. State-of-the-art sustainability standards were also applied to the AquaDom, where BGG is currently propagating coral in breeding tanks. In a test run, coral was suspended in the aquarium in a specially constructed acrylic glass bell with water flow. The aim behind converting the marine world into a reef aquarium is to create a shared space for fish and coral in the AquaDom. (via WIKIMEDIA COMMONS)

The Lesser Known CANYONS

There are still places to Pioneer - JUST NOT VERY MANY

"You cannot see the Grand Canyon in one view...
To see it, you have to toil month to month through its labyrinths."
                                                                  John Wesley Powell, 1869

Mankind made it to the north pole, the south pole, to the moon, to the bottom of the sea, to the top of Mt. Everest, it would seem that there are not too many places left to be pioneered.

The Grand Canyon, being one of the most well known monuments on the planet, would be the last place you might imagine unexplored canyons. Most of the Grand Canyon is associated with seeing the incredible views of its grandeur, but it is the narrow slot canyons that make up the intricate pathways of the water making its way into the giant canyon and river below. The final line in the trailer below suggests that John Wesley Powell first discovered the Grand Canyon 142 years ago, but there are still places there where no human has ever been.

For the team of ""The Last Great Unknown" there is still much to be explored. This feat is truly incredible, not only because of the sheer difficulty, but because the formations, colors and textures found in these slot canyons are nothing short of being natural masterpieces. The end result of this expedition is not simply bragging rights of another first descent or expedition well done, it is an award winning documentary and absolutely breathtaking photographs. The film from the expedition just debuted at the end of April and is making its way around to film festivals across the nation.

Panellus stipticus

GLOW IN THE DARK FUNGUS

Photographs by YLEM

Panellus stipticus, commonly known as the bitter oyster, the astringent panus, the luminescent panellus, or the stiptic fungus, is a species of fungus in the Mycenaceae family, and the type species of the genus Panellus.

A common and widely distributed species, it is found in Asia, Australasia, Europe, and North America, where it grows in groups or dense overlapping clusters on the logs, stumps, and trunks of deciduous trees, especially beech, oak, and birch.Panellus stipticus is one of several dozen species of fungi that are bioluminescent. Strains from eastern North America are typically bioluminescent, but those from the Pacific regions of North America and from other continents are not. The luminescence is localized to the edges of the gills and the junction of the gills with the stem and cap.Bioluminescence refers to the ability of certain living things in the environment to produce light by the action of enzymes. Bioluminescent fungi are widespread, and over 60 species are known. Although the intensity of their luminescence is generally low compared to many other bioluminescent organisms, fungi glow continuously for days, so their total emission is comparable with that of most brightly luminescent organisms, such as fireflies. Luminous fungi are found growing on decaying wood, leading to the popular name of "foxfire" or "glow wood" when their glow is visible at night.

Takouba Arch

Tin-Itinen Area, Tassili-n-Ajjer, Algeria

Photos by: VladimirD

In southeastern Algeria, near the desert town of Djanet, is one of the world's largest national parks called Tassili-n-Ajjer. This park covers an area of about twice the size of Switzerland and is located on a high plateau; to reach it requires a strenuous climb on to the Tassili Plateau and then long walks to the various areas. Most of the park visitors go for the magnificent rock art but there are also hundreds of natural arches to check out as well.

Takouba Arch (above) is one of the great arches in the Tin Itinen area. The outer arch spans 35  feet wide and 72 feet tall with an opening of 33 feet by 66 feet. Takouba means sword in the Tamahaq dialect.

Below are pictures of more arches which are scattered across Africa.

Stargates

Earth Stargate was founded in 1928 on the Giza plateau in Egypt.
Until the 1990s, the principle of operation and methods of operation of the Gateway remained unknown (except for the occasional run of the Gate in 1945).

In 1992 an American scientist named Daniel Jackson - Egyptologist, believes that the pyramids were actually landing pads for spaceships - reading ancient Egyptian texts related to Gates, he discovered the secret principle of operation and maintenance, and at the same time launched a top secret military program, designed to study the universe, and have contact with aliens (in other races and people, exported to distant planets in
the distant past Goa'uld Ra).

It was later revealed that "Ra" was not the sole representative of his race - showed up by the other Goa'uld: Apophis, Heru-ur, Osiris, Lord S (according to legend, the god-emperor of China), Ba'al, and others

In 2003 a joint French-Chinese-Algerian archaeological expedition discovered on the plateau Tadrart, located on the border of Algeria, Libya and Niger, in the heart of the great Sahara, a few dilapidated Stargate.

The area was immediately classified and fully closed to the public until 2010. But now, the rare travelers face greater difficulties in entering into these mysterious places ....Takouba Arch is in Tassili National Park, Algeria has catalog number ALG-75 in the catalog of arches in Tassili National Park.

Recently an acquaintance of the professor of archeology, shared a version of the secret conspiracy of the causes and transmission belts of events that occured in the last year in North Africa.

This man, very well knows the subject topic of Stargates and associated artifacts. He argues that all of these revolutions were arranged by the Americans with one sole purpose - on the sly, to establish control over the areas of alien artifacts in Egypt, Libya, Algeria and Yemen
...and take advantage of their opportunities to replenish gold reserves.

Hope this was informative :)
